Hello Scrappy friends !!
Today I am going to share the school treat project I have been working on for my daughter’s second grade class ( I am one of the room mother’s ) , she has 20 in her class and we are making 10 for random acts of kindness .I am using Paper Smooches “A Magical Spring “ to make my treat bags , I also made mustache straws using a Achiver’s exclusive stamp and die set . I am going to show how I made my treat bag toppers in this post .
to make my topper I die cut a piece using my SU Top Note die with 110 lb card stock , next I am using Tim Holtz’s distress ink and swipe each color on my Teflon craft mat
next I spritz it with water to get the colors to bead up and I swipe my topper die cut into the ink , pres down and then let it dry by air or heat tool , if you want more color tap it in again , the tip is to let it dry between layers , from one swipe of inks I can get 3 -4 toppers colored I am only doing the front half of the topper
I wanted a rainbow back ground and when doing so many this was the best way,I love the water-color effect this gives
I set them aside to dry
next I stamp and copic color and fussy cut my leprechaun’s out all 30 , this gives you a lot coloring practice ( I did these in spurts and even took them on a car trip to finish ..lol )
copics used
I stamped my sentiment and added my leprechaun , in my treat bags I added 7 Rolos that have a $ coin circle added to the top and a rainbow marshmallow rope , isn’t the mustache straw cute , we are also going to do a Photo booth with all kinds of prompts to take silly memorable pictures it should be a good time .
Thanks for stooping in to see how I made this project , come back tomorrow for my post for I Brake for Stamps , until then make something that makes you smile : )
