Today the challenge is Seeing Spots , these girls are seeing spots alright of the rain drop sort. I sketched this card on the way to a shopping trip , the wheels are alway turning so I try to have paper with me to jot down my ideas. My thought was to have rain drops that look real in window glass ,I have been saving my plastic clam shells from Cricut cartridges and Spellbinder dies to make window cards and shaker cards ( recycle / reuse ) , they work great and cost nothing extra but really add to your project .I colored my Girlfriends (UM4048 Under my Umbrella set )the umbrella was stamped on paper and cut and glued to stamp image ,the rain drops were made with copic marker B26 on the front of plastic then I took my white gel pen and added a highlight on each rain drop then I went over the drop with glossy accents to add dimension, they really came to life and look real .I used a SU labels die to create the window , the trick here is to add your paper to front of the card glue down and then on back side of the card front add the piece that will cover your window on the backside , lay your die on the front of your card and cut all three layers at once so it will all line up perfectly , when you tak off the back side add an X to the side that will be glued to cover the window , this will allow you to line it back up once you add the plastic layer , I used glossy accents to glue the plastic square in place and to add my black inside layer to hide the plastic .then I lined up my girlfriend in my window and make makes to where I need to cut the girls out to center them on the inside , next I masked off the girls to add clouds around them in blue chalk , to the front of the card I added clouds ( from which the rain came ) and flowers below window .Thanks for stopping by and have an Ai Day .
You’ve topped yourself! Really cute, Crystal!
Outstanding!! Love it! What a grand Idea for reusing clear plastic packaging. This card has so many deminsions that bring it to life. Love the saying on the inside.
