Prima Doll Birthday Card

February 25, 2014 By 8UpScrapin 1 Comment

Hello my scrappy friends !!

Today’s card is made with a Prima doll stamp , these were so hard to come by when they first came out , they were hot and I was able to get my hands 6 of them , they are a great size 2 1/2′ wide and 7 1/2′ tall , perfect for scrapbook pages and tags but today I am making a card for my step daughter Tori was has turned 18 and blossomed into a beautiful young woman , I want to make her a very special card. so I am going to walk you thru how I made this card but first let’s take a look at it .

this card is 9″ by 4 1/4″

Prima doll 014 - Copy

I start out by adding ink to my craft mat
Prima doll 002 - Copy

spray ink with water

Prima doll 003 - Copy

I blot my tag  ( prima tag ,  heavy weight ) into the inky water one time dry it with heat gun the do again

( if you don’t dry with heat gun in between blots it will pool to an ugly mess )

after dry I ink edges with walnut stain distress ink

Prima doll 004 - Copy

next I used molding paste and a stencil to add my stars this adds cool texture , let dry , clean stencil right away

Prima doll 005 - Copy what it looks like so far , I did add some script stamping here and there after this photo was taken and colored my stars pink ( next time I will add paint to my paste so the stand out more )
Prima doll 007 - Copy

next I stamp my prima doll on ivory 110lb card stock and with memento ink stamp a small script over doll stamp for my texture and interest

Prima doll 008 - Copy

next I color her in with copic markers and fussy cut her out

Prima doll 009 - Copy

my card base is 9 by 8 1/2 score at 4 1/4 fold in half ink edges and stamp ink spots onto card base , don’t worry about the middle the edges are the only thing that will show .

Prima doll 010 - Copy

I decided I want some lace along my tag I am making to go on the front of this card , I am stamping script onto vellum

Prima doll 012 - Copy

cut vellum into 1″ strips and then punch a scallop edge then run it thru crimper , ink the scallop edge

Prima doll 013 - Copy

I attached my lace with sticky strip and pleat it as I put it on , it took 2 strips   , I added pearl sprays ,  leaf swirls  , small spiral flowers , ink sprayed doily and my sentiments were die cuts , paper bow is a die cut , more views of my card below
