Ombre’ purple nails

June 4, 2012 By 8UpScrapin 1 Comment

I have been asked how I do my nails so today I want to do a different post to my blog , not on scrapbooking ( Gasp   ..lol ). I love to do my own nails and this is how I get my Ombre’ nail look in purple .

First I paint the tips (as if doing a french manicure ) in a light purple and let dry. ( pinkie and ring finger are the sample )

next step I sponge a purple glitter polish ( this is see thru if you don’t lay a coat of purple pant under it ) ,the sponge I use are the makeup wedges to put on foundation . I sponge this on half way down the nail , let dry . ( pointer and middle finger are the sample ) you do not have to be perfect when doing this nail look , you just dab it on.

next step is to use the same glitter polish and sponge 3/4 of the way down .This gives the lightest at cuticle are to darkest on the tip look , then I use Seche Vite fast dry top coat , this is my favorite top coat and will settle over the glitter polish to give a smooth finish .
