Hello Scrappy Friends !!
It’s Crystal here and today I have a guest helper , my 8 yr old daughter Zoe . Zoe is a big YouTube girl and she found a tutorial on homemade lip gloss and wanted to try it herself ( with the help of mom ), so today is “Sunday Funday lets try it out “ at our house and we wanted to share with you what we made and how we did it.Have you ever saw a crayon and thought that would make a pretty lip gloss or lipstick , today we will show you how to do it .Crayons are non-toxic and have high pigments in them so the are the perfect base for the color.
Supplies you will need : Coconut oil , crayon in your favorite color , small containers , a pan and small glass bowl , water ,bamboo skew and tongs
we found a bag of 7 containers at 5Below store for 3 dollars , we will use he other containers for other needs but today we are using the lip pots , it came with 3
next you need to set up a double boiler system with a pan small amount of water and the small glass dish
we are using coconut oil , this can be found at Walmart
pick your crayon color,we are using a pink and purple and white to make our lip colors , see where we broke the crayon this is about a 1/4 of the crayon , this is what you will need to make a small pot
get the pot of water boiling with the empty bowl in it , add 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil and a 1/4 of a crayon and melt it , if you want more color add a tad more crayon
stir with a bamboo skew ( see my lovely assistant )
once it is melted remove the bowl with tongs and pour into lip pot
we also made a purple and added some white crayon
we took a swatch of the purple
next put them in the refrigerator for 10 min
Zoe is modeling the purple gloss
here she is modeling the pink
well that is it for today,I hope you can get scrappy and make something that makes you or someone you love SMILE : )
Zoe awesome tutorial! TFS! The lip gloss looks great on your lips.
