Hello Scrappy Friends !!
Today I want to share a fun project that I have been collecting for . I have been collecting rubber boots ,some are from my daughter and some I got from yard sales and some my friend Linda got for me . So let’s get started with my version of a living wall with memories..
The finished fence , okay maybe not finished , I think I could keep adding I have a lot of fence and why not treat it like the outside room wall and decorate it up with this that can get wet …
so to get this look I collected lots of boots I then took a knife and stabbed holes at the sides of the boots to let water drain so not to get root rot , I then added a layer of pea size gravel for drainage next good potting soil with moisture beads to hold water and has fertilizer in it , then I planted different kinds of greenery / veining plants , it took me a little over a month to get these hung , my son came over last night and screwed them in the fence with me , Thanks Spencer ..love ya !!!
next I found some metal flowers and a butterfly from the Five below store to add to my fence arrangement
these are the screws and washers we used , I thought the washer would help with keeping the screws from pulling thru the rubber once it was hung , my fence was not so thick and we did not want these poking thru the back side so we went with 1″ wood screws
next we started screwing them to the fence randomly
this is what the screw looks like once attached and we had not problem hanging them filled and planted
I am sure you could spray paint the black boots if you want more color to your fence or even add polka dots
I am sure it’s going to be hard to find boots after everyone see this project , now when I sit on my deck I have a wall of memories ( looking at my daughters boots ) and awesome view .. They make me SMILE .. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial ,if so leave me a commit and if you have other ideas please share with me in the commits below I would love to hear from you : )
