Ai Thursday Challenge # 88 …Photo card

November 8, 2012 By 8UpScrapin 4 Comments

Hello Ai Fans !!
Today’s challenge was to make a Photo card  , and the image I really wanted to work with was the Girlfriends Picture Perfect sku # U4134 and paired it with the sentiment A Friend Supports sku # G3586 .
My vision was that these girlfriends went on a trip to Paris and then I wanted to make a photo booth film strip of pics they took . I had so much fun designing this little creation ( no  ,I have never been to Paris but my friend’s daughter went last year on a school trip so I have lived thru her stories and her pictures  ) .
I am going to take you thru the steps I took creating my card
first I made my photo booth strip ,black strip is cut at 2 1/2″ by 4 3/4″ , I then used a EK binder edge punch down both long sides , I then stamped the Picture Perfect image twice and was able to crop the images i wanted , they are 1 1/4 ” by 1 3/4″ , when i arrange them  I place the top and bottom pics on first and then evenly space the center one , I do this after they are colored .I used my prisma pencils and gamsol with paper stump blenders ( Archiver’s has a nice starter set of Gamsol and stumps and the sharpener , and any wax based pencil will work until you want to invest in prisma’s )

next I cut a 5 x5 card base and my layers , I used a SU French script background stamp stamped in SU soft suede and inked the edges

next I used my cricut and gypsy to cut my images from the Circut Destinations cartridge on pg 61 in the handbook , I cut the Eiffel tower  in 4″ and the tower with Paris in 3 1/2″ , I then inked them with Viva Inka Gold in graphite

now for the fun of arranging , this is the process that I play with the most ,I trimmed hang off
I added viva pearl pen swirls also , here you can see the inka gold on the cricut images I cut , it really added depth and distress
I added a spray of flowers to ither side to balance my card out . Inside I used a embossing folder that had travel stamps , I embossed and used Inka gold graphite and raised images , I then stamped the girls altogether , I used my copic W1 to go around all the stamped images to make them pop off the page.

Supplies :Picture Perfect sku # U4134 , A Friend Supports sku # G3586 , SU french Script BG stamp , Cricut , Gypsy , Destinations cartridge , MS Hydrangea punch , MS fern branch punch , EK binder edge punch , Viva pearl pen in cream , Viva Inka Gold in Graphite, prisma pencils , gamsol blending  spirits , travel stamps embossing folder

Thanks for stopping by my world of 8UpScrapin .. I so love these Ai stamps and I hope it shows in my work , they put a smile on my face and I hope they did on yours too.
